AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — SHIFT, the health and performance operating system designed for industrial and frontline workforces, has launched its Clinical & Performance Advisory Council and named trauma expert Dr. Brandi Luedtke, PsyD, HSPP, as Founding Advisor.
The council marks another step in SHIFT’s mission to rethink how employers support the health, performance and overall capacity of the people who keep America moving.
Many workplace health programs were designed around traditional office environments. SHIFT was built specifically for the realities of frontline work — long shifts, physical demands, stress, fatigue and the pressures employees carry both on and off the job.
In 2022, approximately 5,200 construction workers ages 16 to 64 died by suicide—more than five times the number who died from fatal injuries on the job, according to data analyzed by CPWR–The Center for Construction Research and Training.
CDC data also show that in 2021, men working in construction had a suicide rate of 56.0 per 100,000, compared with 32.0 per 100,000 among men in the overall working population.
“What really drew me to SHIFT is the opportunity to take evidence-based mental health and performance tools beyond traditional clinical settings and into the everyday lives of people who may never otherwise encounter them,” said Dr. Luedtke. “Frontline workers face pressures that are very different from those of other populations, so supporting their mental health requires us to understand their environment, their culture and the realities of their work. I’m excited to help SHIFT bridge that gap and make meaningful support more accessible.”
“America’s frontline workforce deserves support designed for the realities of the job,” said Chris LeVeck, founder of SHIFT. “These are the men and women building, moving, maintaining and keeping our country running. We owe it to them to provide practical tools and credible expertise that fit their lives. Dr. Luedtke’s appointment is an important step toward that vision.”
Dr. Luedtke specializes in trauma exposure, post-traumatic stress disorder and the development of evidence-based mental health interventions. She brings nearly two decades of clinical, research and leadership experience in PTSD-focused care and in training clinicians in evidence-based PTSD treatments.
Her work also includes the development of couples-based interventions for trauma-related disorders and collaborations with organizations serving military and veteran communities.
As a Founding Advisor, Dr. Luedtke will provide strategic guidance as SHIFT develops content and programming in mental health, stress management, resilience and recovery — supporting frontline employees and the organizations that employ them.
The Clinical & Performance Advisory Council will bring together experts across disciplines that shape frontline health and human performance, including mental health and trauma, nervous-system regulation, sleep and recovery, physical health, nutrition and leadership.
Council members will advise SHIFT on content and program development, emerging workforce-health needs and approaches for helping employers create stronger, healthier and more resilient teams.
SHIFT combines real-world workforce experience with digital engagement and performance tools — helping employees address stress, fatigue and preventable health challenges before they affect work and life.
“We’re building an operating system that helps people perform better at work and live better outside of it,” LeVeck said. “The Advisory Council helps ensure we’re building that system alongside people who have spent their careers understanding the challenges our workforce faces.”
Additional members of the SHIFT Clinical & Performance Advisory Council will be announced in the coming months.
