Robert Hoffecker Launches Free Mentorship Program for Aspiring Hospitality Professionals in Puerto Rico

A Career Built from the Ground Up

Robert Hoffecker’s 22-year career in hospitality began at the front desk of a Philadelphia hotel. He advanced through roles including Front Office Supervisor, Guest Relations Manager, Operations Manager, and Director of Guest Experience before becoming Senior Tourism & Hospitality Manager for Caribbean Hospitality Group in San Juan. Now he wants to create pathways for others who are starting where he once did.

“I wanted to understand the business from the front line,” Hoffecker explains. “If you know what guests ask for, what employees struggle with, and where systems break down, you can make better decisions later.”

The new mentorship program reflects that philosophy. It is designed for individuals who want to build careers in hospitality but may not have access to formal training, professional networks, or industry guidance.

What Participants Will Receive

The program offers three core components. Monthly workshops cover essential topics including guest relations, operations management, career planning, team leadership, and sustainable tourism practices. Mentorship circles connect small groups of participants with hospitality professionals for ongoing guidance and discussion. Office hours provide one-on-one time for resume reviews, career questions, and personalized advice.

All sessions are offered in both English and Spanish. Workshops are held in person at community centers in San Juan and virtually for participants across the island. Mentorship circles meet monthly, and office hours are available by appointment.
