(“Argyle” or the “Company”), today announced a change in its ownership structure that transfers a majority equity interest in the Company from its founding shareholder, Olio Holdings Ltd. (“Olio”), to five of the firm’s senior principals.
Effective today, Robert Chin, Glenn Kennedy, Peter Rigg, John Howard, and James Lawi have together acquired an aggregate 51% interest in Argyle, becoming shareholders of the Company alongside Olio, which retains a continuing stake. The transaction was structured as a negotiated internal sale and is accompanied by a new shareholders’ agreement governing the parties’ respective rights and roles going forward.
The new shareholder group reflects the range of functions central to Argyle’s operations: Mr. Chin, the Company’s Chief Executive Officer, leads operations, fund administration oversight, and audit coordination; Mr. Rigg and Mr. Howard, both members of the investment committee, oversee investment advisor direction; Mr. Lawi leads business development and Mr. Kennedy, a director of the Company, is responsible for compliance, legal, fund governance, and regulatory matters in the Cayman Islands; .
“This transaction puts ownership of Argyle in the hands of the people who build and run the business day to day,” said Robert Chin. “We are grateful to Olio for its support in reaching this point, and we look forward to continuing to serve our investors with the same discipline and focus that have defined the firm since its founding.”
The new shareholders’ agreement establishes governance arrangements, transfer restrictions, and succession mechanics intended to keep ownership aligned with active participation in the Company’s business over the long term. Olio and the Company have also entered into customary closing arrangements in connection with the transaction. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
