Partnering with Fitness Trainer Makena Rae to Inspire Guests to Move at Their Own Pace
NEW YORK, Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Loews Hotels & Co is excited to announce the launch of Active Stays by Loews Hotels, new, on-property fitness offerings created in partnership with fitness trainer Makena Rae to make movement approachable, flexible, and personal for every traveler. Launching across the portfolio just in time for Self-Care Awareness Month, the initiative transforms Loews Hotels into a welcoming home base for well-being, giving guests easy ways to stay active throughout their stay, whether they have ten minutes between meetings or an entire morning to explore a destination on foot.
Unlike traditional hotel fitness programs that emphasize performance or training goals, Active Stays by Loews Hotels is built on the belief that movement should fit the guest, not the other way around. From business travelers looking to reset after a flight to families seeking an activity they can enjoy together, the offerings encourage every guest to move in whatever way feels most natural, at their own pace and without expectations.
At Loews Hotels, we’ve always believed hospitality is about enriching lives and creating moments of joy,” said Kristie Goshow, Chief Commercial Officer, Loews Hotels & Co. “Active Stays by Loews Hotels was created around a simple idea: movement, play, and wellness help us become happier, healthier versions of ourselves. Through our partnership with Makena Rae, we’ve developed experiences that inspire guests to embrace wellness in ways that feel achievable, enjoyable, and uniquely personal. Whether someone is starting a new wellness journey, staying consistent with an established routine, exploring a destination through movement, or simply taking time to reconnect with themselves through yoga, Active Stays makes it easier to feel good while away from home.”
Peloton’s survey in March 2026 of 3,000+ active travelers shows that guests increasingly expect hotels to support their full wellness routine, including fitness, sleep quality, stress reduction, and healthier F&B options. With 60% of travelers valuing fitness amenities as much or more than other hotel perks, wellness is no longer a premium add-on but a core driver of hotel choice and guest satisfaction, and underscores the growing guest demand Active Stays is designed to meet.
Active Stays by Loews Hotels also marks the next chapter in the brand’s broader commitment to guest well-being, building on the momentum of past initiatives to continue offering guests meaningful, personal ways to feel their best while traveling.
The programming brings well-being to life through two core pillars: accessible movement experiences designed for every guest, paired with recovery and restoration moments that encourage balance throughout each stay.
Fitness That Comes to You with Makena Rae
Recognizing that not every traveler wants or has the time to visit the fitness center, Active Stays introduces a new in-room fitness experience featuring a curated library of equipment-free workouts accessible through guest room TVs. Developed in collaboration with fitness expert Makena Rae, the digital series features short, approachable workouts including targeted workout sessions, mobility exercises, bodyweight strength, and recovery sessions designed specifically for hotel rooms.
Whether preparing for a busy day of meetings or winding down after travel, guests can move whenever it best fits their schedule.
Movement, Your Way
Properties will offer a variety of movement experiences that reflect the unique character of each destination. Examples include;
- Loews Regency New York Hotel is offering a Run. Rest. Regency Marathon Package: including a $50 daily food and beverage credit per room, a curated Central Park running map, a themed amenity, and late check-out. Marathon runners can carbo-load with a special menu at The Regency Bar & Grill and recover with exclusive perks at nearby Ancient Aire Bath. The lobby will also feature a cart stocked with runner essentials all weekend. As a bonus, guests take home complimentary branded pickleball paddles and balls, so they can continue running the courts year-round.
- This October, Live! by Loews – Arlington and Loews Arlington Hotel will partner with the City of Arlington’s Walktober initiative, bringing guests and the local community together through movement. As sponsors, both properties are committed to supporting initiatives that promote a healthy and vibrant Arlington community. Guests and locals can pick up curated walking maps to get in their steps around world-class sports and entertainment venues, through the city’s museums, or around Mark Holtz Lake in Richard Greene Linear Park.
- Loews Chicago Hotel invites guests to Move Along Route 66 with a curated walking and jogging map that turns a stay into a self-guided tour of the city’s most iconic sights. The route begins right at the hotel and heads to Navy Pier, where guests can take in Chicago’s lakefront and the official starting point of Route 66, before continuing to additional Mother Road–inspired stops and landmarks throughout the city.
- Loews Atlanta Hotel invites guests to move, train, and recover without ever leaving Midtown, thanks to the newly renovated exhale® Atlanta, now expanded through an integrated partnership with Salt Fitness. Guests can drop into Modern Pilates by Salt for a total-body reformer workout, join a coach-led Train by Salt strength and conditioning session, or unwind in the Recover by Salt studio with contrast therapy, red light therapy, and compression treatments.
Move Well. Recover Well.
Active Stays extends beyond movement to embrace recovery as an essential part of every routine. Properties will introduce refreshed food and beverage offerings centered on hydration and protein-forward choices designed to fuel movement and support recovery. Guests can also indulge in convenient grab-and-go snacks and fresh, seasonal menu items available through restaurants, lounges, and in-room dining. Together, these offerings make it easier for guests to maintain healthy routines while traveling, helping them stay energized, recover well, and feel their best throughout their stay.
As fitness travel continues to evolve far beyond race weekends, today’s travelers increasingly seek flexible ways to maintain healthy routines while away from home. Active Stays by Loews Hotels reflects that shift, offering an inclusive approach that serves business travelers, families, and leisure guests seeking moments of movement and restoration during their stay.
Active Stays by Loews Hotels will be available at all properties nationwide beginning September 9. For more information about Loews Hotels & Co or to book your upcoming travel, visit Loews Hotels.
